Al McCandless (July 23, 1927-), a Republican politician from California McCandless was born 1927 in Brawley, California. He grew up in Los Angeles and received a BA from UCLA in 1951. He served in the Marine Corps 1945-1946 and 1950-1952 during the Korean War. After the war, he was an automobile and truck dealer. He was elected to the Riverside County Board of Supervisors and served during 1972-1982. He was elected to the 98th to 103rd Congress and served during 1983-1995.
