Jeremiah Clemens (December 28, 1814 - May 21, 1865) was a U.S. senator from the state of Alabama. He was elected to fill the vacancy left by the death of Dixon Hall Lewis, and served from November 30, 1849 to March 3, 1853. He also wrote the first American Civil War novel and the first western novel.
