General Description
The 5 of Swords is probably the most base card of the Minor Arcana of the Tarot. It shows a precarious conflict, adverse altercations, unfair blows, vileness, and humiliation. At the same time, the card leaves it open as to whether the nasty maliciousness comes from us or if we are in the dangerous position of being drawn into an ambush as the victim. Only the additionally drawn cards can give further information about this. But in any case, this 5 of Swords means a Pyrrhic victory that the victor will not celebrate for long.
