BANOI One of the names that the peoples of the New Hebrides used for the land of the dead. Banoi was similar in most aspects to Earth, except for the fact that there were no gardens there, as there was no work required to be done. In Banoi the dead were segregated, those having died of a particular disease or in a particular way keeping together.
