PAPA The earth goddess of the Hawaiian people, Papa was queen of the underworld, and motherof the gods. She married a mortal, Wakea, but the man's incestuous love for his daughter Ho'ohoku-ka-lani caused Papa to leave her husband, and instigate death for theHawaiian people.
